About BargainHive

A small review hub that takes "independent" seriously.

BargainHive was founded in 2026 by a small group of writers and engineers who were tired of "best of" lists that read like spreadsheets. We test what we recommend, we publish our methodology, and we keep our scoring honest.

How we test

  1. We buy first. Most products are bought at retail with our own money. When a brand sends a unit, we say so on the page and apply no review conditions.
  2. We use criteria, not vibes. Every category has a published rubric (e.g. for headphones: noise cancellation, comfort over 4 hours, call clarity, battery, app, value). Scores roll up from those.
  3. We test for time. "Best of" lists require minimum 8 weeks of real use, in real conditions. We don't review unboxings.
  4. We disclose every commercial relationship. Every page that contains an affiliate link says so above the fold. See our full disclosure.
  5. We update. When prices, models, or rankings change, we update the page and bump the "last updated" date. Outdated picks hurt readers, so we treat refreshes as part of the job.

The team

Six full-time reviewers. Bylines on every article. Real photos, real bios.

10 years reviewing audio, formerly at {{PRIOR_OUTLET}}. Reviews headphones, earbuds, and home audio.

Hardware engineer turned writer. Reviews laptops, charging gear, and consumer tech. Particular weakness for tiny travel chargers.

Former chef. Tests cookware, espresso machines, and whatever else can be put through 200 cycles in a small Brooklyn kitchen.

Backcountry guide and gear nerd. Tests packs, tents, sleep systems, and anything else you'd want at 10,000 feet.

How we make money

BargainHive is reader-supported. When you buy through some of our links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We also run a few display ads on long-form guides. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or pay-to-play in our rankings. For the full breakdown โ€” networks we work with, what we earn, and our editorial firewall โ€” see our disclosure page.
